Man Wins Case Against Orlando Police Over False Arrest

Posted: 11:51 a.m. EST November 7, 2003

A man who accused Orlando Police of storming into his house and assaulting him won his case against the department.

Thursday, a jury found the city falsely arrested Uriyah Aja-mu and violated his privacy when they stormed into his house in 1999, looking for a drug suspect.

The jury also decided the city must pay Aja-mu $20,000 for medical bills and pain and suffering, for injuries he sustained during the search.

The officers who stormed into Aja-mu's house were cleared of any wrong doing since they were following the city's orders for carrying out a search warrant.
