Residents Say Moldy Apartments Are Making Them Sick

Posted: 7:46 am EST November 10, 2003Updated: 7:47 am EST November 10, 2003

People living in an Orange County apartment complex say a serious mold problem is making them sick. They say mold is growing on the walls of the Executive Resort Apartments.

Residents claim, the mold is making it tough to breathe and they are getting headaches.

Crews have been called in several times to clean it up, but people living there say the mold keeps coming back.

"You wash it out and it comes back. So, evidently, they are not getting it out, whatever it is," says resident Ruth Ann White.

We tried several times to speak with the property managers about the problem, but they either ran away or told us they did not have a comment.

By law, if the tenants can prove the mold is effecting their health and the management does not take care of the problem, there is a national precedent for them to sue.
