STRANGE PHOTOS:Weird News In PicturesORLANDO, Fla. -- It's true! Goofy is suing Disney. It's the man who played the Disney character on the company's cruise ship. The man suing says the Magic turned into a nightmare for him.
Eric Ford says he took a curtain to the head while he was performing as Goofy. He apparently didn't laugh it off. Now he's barking for a big pay off.Ford performed as the dog on the ship three years ago. He blames, in part, the Goofy costume for his trouble.According to the lawsuit filed in federal court, the costume was defective, not reasonably suitable for its intended purpose. The reason: Ford claims he couldn't see a thing out of the suit while on stage. Because of that, a curtain came down on top of him at the end of a performance. His lawsuit also claims there were "no markers whatsoever on the stage" and that there was "negligence" on the part of a stagehand.Ford claims he has been hounded by problems ever since, experiencing "disabling injuries to his back and neck," "mental anguish" and "loss of enjoyment of life." He's seeking $300,000.Ford left the ship, hung up his Goofy suit and moved to Chicago. We couldn't reach him. But he, no doubt, is hoping that in this suit, every dog will have his day.Disney Cruise Lines hasn't actually been served with any of the paperwork on this yet. But even if they had, they won't comment on ongoing lawsuits.
