Police Looking For Clues In Murder Of Tattoo Artist

Monday, June 21, 2004 – updated: 8:14 am EDT June 21, 2004

Police will canvass a Cocoa neighborhood to look for clues in a tattoo artist's murder. Investigators believe he may be the victim of violent robbers who have been targeting businesses along U.S.-1 for about a month.

Robert Mark McKee, 42, was killed around 7 o'clock Saturday night while working at Altered Images. Detectives say McKee's body was found in the parking lot.

McKee's friends hope police are able to track down the murderer quickly.

"I just hope somebody saw something. They'll think, this could be your son, your child, that something like this could happen to," says Elmer Hale, the victim's friend.

Investigators think the two men involved robbed at least two other Cocoa businesses, as well as one in Cocoa Beach and another in Rockledge.
