ORLANDO, Fla. -- Investigators are now calling a fire that destroyed a downtown Orlando building arson. Monday afternoon, Channel 9 talked to the owner of the shop where the fire began Saturday morning.

The owner says she has no knowledge of how the fire began early Saturday morning, only that it destroyed her business, the Quiznos sandwich shop on the bottom floor, and admitted that investigators have questioned both her and her husband.

As scores of downtown workers stopped to look at the rubble of the century old, three-story building, they wonder how the fire began that started in the bottom floor of the recently closed Quiznos sandwich shop.

Suspicious investigators confirmed their hunches Monday that the fire was intentionally set. Investigators say they've spoken with the building owner, as well as owners of all three businesses destroyed.

But one owner, they say, they've been unable to meet with in person. Mohamed Umran is one of the owners of the Quiznos sandwich shop. His wife, the primary owner, admitted she, too, has been questioned.

"I was home sleeping [when the fire broke out]," Umran says.

The building's owner says the Umrans had been paying $3,500 a month for rent and have another eight or nine years left on the lease. But, just recently, they lost their franchise rights with Quiznos and quickly closed up shop.

When asked why the company closed, Umran wouldn't comment and said her husband is in New York for a family emergency.

At this point, investigators are not labeling anybody a suspect, saying they still have a lot of investigating to do say proving who did it is, ultimately, the hardest part of any investigation.

The fire destroyed two other businesses in the building, Lasting Image tattoo parlor and Kathmandu, a store that sold exotic trinkets and jewelry.
