ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orange County School Board could take further disciplinary action against two assistant principals arrested over the weekend for attempting to hire a prostitute.Randolph Ray is the assistant principal at University High School. Many students are undoubtedly just learning of the charges. He and another assistant principal, from Pinewood Elementary, are both currently suspended with pay.Early Saturday morning, Orange County sheriff's deputies say Ray asked an undercover officer to perform oral sex. It was part of a sting operation at Indiana and Orange Blossom Trail. According to the police report, sitting in the truck next to him was Megan Caldwell, the assistant principal at Pinewood Elementary. She was going to watch.
"I'm always worried about this school, about the students here, the environment here, and now I don't know what to say. I really don't," said parent Manuel Tirona.Reactions varied from the principals' schools, but some parents said they would reserve any judgment. At Pinewood Elementary, one parent said that the current charge against Caldwell does not reflect the person they know."She seems to go out of her way to help the kids, to do it for the kids," said parent Iris Jones. The school board meets at 5:30 Tuesday evening and could take further disciplinary action at that time.
