ORLANDO, Fla. -- An Orlando man is accused of killing his fiancé with a samurai sword and then admitting to the crime over the phone. Thursday, police revealed that they found Fawn Trivette, 28, dead in her bedroom, covered in blanket.Police said, after the murder, Christopher Dunsmoor, 25, called a friend in Wichita, Kan. to tell him he'd taken a giant sword to his fiancé. That friend called Dunsmoor's parents, who alerted police to the crime.Mark Snapp was a close friend of the victim for 10 years. He said friends of the couple never knew her live-in boyfriend would turn to violence."He's made threats to other girlfriend, but we were all, like, people say crazy things. We didn't realize it would turn into a slaughterhouse," Snapp said. The house where police say Dunsmoor killed Trivette was still surrounded by crime scene tape Thursday, as crime scene investigators continued to collect evidence. An arrest affidavit released Thursday said Dunsmoor was arguing yesterday with Trivette before he stabbed her and then cut her throat with a samurai sword when she didn't die."I'm very sorry," Dunsmoor said to Channel 9 after his arrest.
Wednesday, as police searched for Dunsmoor, his car broke down in east Orange County. He broke into a community center and then called 9-1-1 to report the murder himself. He then waited to be taken into custody. Two brothers who live upstairs from Dunsmoor and Trivette were asked to gather belonging and stay elsewhere for the time being. They said the couple did not appear to have a violent relationship."Never, never, not once. I mean, they used to sit out front, and he never even raised his voice to her," said neighbor Sean Hawes.Thursday afternoon, a detective told Channel 9 that, during an interview, Dunsmoor showed remorse and said he killed Trivette because she said something that "really hurt his feelings," but Dunsmoor didn't elaborate.Dunsmoor is in the Orange County jail on "protective watch." Jail officials said that's because of the high profile nature of this case.
