ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -- A Volusia County animal trapper had to go underground to haul away a seven-foot alligator.
The alligator's tail was actually visible as it was sticking out the end of a sewer pipe, located at the corner of Wilmette Avenue and U.S. 1, in Ormond BeachA trapper was called in to pull it out, and haul it away.He tells Channel 9 that there are more of the reptiles in sewers than you could imagine."A lot more than we know, they use it [sewer system] to travel in and around the city," said trapper Curtis Lucas. "Instead of going over land or through creeks that we've dammed up and stuff, they just go through the sewer system."This particular gator was right in front of a fire station, and just down the street from a senior center. The trapper said it was a safety risk.

The alligator's tail could be seen protruding from the end of the sewer pipe.
