HELP OUT: Pet Rescue by JudyOVIEDO, Fla. -- A Seminole County animal rescue group that's very active across Central Florida is being told it has to move.
Code Enforcement said the shelter is not zoned for animals. It is only for commercial use. A neighbor called Code Enforcement to complain the pet rescue was not in compliance and now the animals need to go.
"It's really gratifying, but terrifying what may happen," said Judy Sarullo.
Sarullo runs the organization Pet Rescue by Judy. She said she has been saving pets for more than 10 years, but now she has run into a crisis. She is forced to move more than 60 pets out the shelter.
In April, the land was sold and rezoned for commercial property. A neighbor complained that she was not incompliance and now Code Enforcement says she has until January 17 to move out.
Sarullo desperately needs help. She wants to get all of the animals adopted and as well as provide foster homes.
Several organizations have offered to take Sarullo’s animals, however she said she wants to adopt them herself before she gives them to other agencies.
