Woman Gets 22 Years For Drunk Driving Crash That Killed Two

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

A judge sentenced a Central Florida woman to 22 years in prison for killing two people while driving drunk.

Chenoa Townsend, 26, pleaded no contest to two counts of DUI manslaughter.

Townsend's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit when she hit a car with 21-year old Marissa Herzer driving in Orange County in January 2003. Herzer and her boyfriend, 21-year old Robert Vale, were killed.

"They never leave my mind. I wake up thinking about them. I go to sleep thinking about them, because I'm not the kind of person to take somebody's life. That's not who I am," Townsend said.

Townsend has three young children.
