PALM BAY, Fla. -- It was an extremely close call Thursday afternoon for a Brevard County family when a 13-month-old baby was found floating in a backyard swimming pool.
Palm Bay paramedics were able to revive the little boy and put him on a helicopter so he could be airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital.Investigators said the mother had stepped out to get the mail and when she returned discovered her son had gone through an open door and out to the pool. The mother performed CPR with the help of a 9-1-1 operator."If that child would not have had that CPR performed within a certain amount of time, the circumstances could have been a lot worse. There's no real telling," said paramedic Ron Ross. The child was conscious and crying as it was taken away by paramedics.
