ORLANDO, Fla. -- Despite two SWAT team raids that turned up nothing, Orlando police and the parents of Jennifer Kesse said the search for the 24-year-old is moving forward. The SWAT team moved in Sunday night on two houses on 40th Street, near Rio Grande Avenue.Police said Kesse may still be alive. Detectives said patrol officers who work the street have heard talk that Kesse is still alive, which was why Sunday night's tip was treated with such urgency. But word that Kesse was being held in a boarding house a few miles from her condo turned out to be false. Police said it was a solid lead that brought them to the boarding house along Orange Blossom Trail."We were hoping for a Cinderella ending," said Sgt. Rich Ring, Orlando Police Department detective. But a room-by-room search of the building and a nearby house yielded no sign of Jennifer."Right now, there's nothing that indicates she was there. We're still following that up. We're still working that," Sgt. Ring said.Sgt. Ring spoke to the tipster himself Sunday afternoon. Two other detectives met with the caller in person. Four hours later, they raided the building. The tipster was so credible, they believed it was the information they'd been waiting for."The bottom line is that if that were my family, I would expect that from law enforcement. That's what we did today," Sgt. Ring said. The 24-year-old MetroWest woman vanished three weeks ago. Since then, authorities have scoured the area on horseback, with cadaver dogs and hundreds of volunteers. But after all that, this was the first good lead they'd gotten.Still, investigators said, they have no plans to give up a search in which they've invested so much."The detectives have emotions about the case. It's very personal. It's been 19 days. We'll continue working it," Sgt. Ring said.Detectives believe there may be several people who may not be to blame themselves for Jennifer's disappearance, but may know something about the person, or people, who are. They are urging anyone with that information to come forward. There is a $115,000 reward. The Kesses said the publicity from Sunday's raid also sent more leads pouring into Crimeline (800-423-TIPS). The detectives are still sorting through all of those.
