DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A serial killer remains on the loose in Daytona Beach. Police said a man they arrested as a "person of interest" in the murders of three women is not the serial killer.Investigators thought they had their first break in the search for a serial killer. It turns out it was just another dead end.Police were alerted when a woman flagged down a patrol car here on Williamson. She said a man, John Rose, was following her. Both the man and the woman were taken into custody and Rose's car was swept for evidence. This took place in the area where two of the three serial killer's victims were found off Williamson. All three were killed when they got into a car with a man they did not know. The latest incident followed that pattern. Investigators found drugs in the car, but no evidence that linked Rose or the woman he was with to the killings.Rose was booked into the Volusia County jail on drug possession charges, but he has been cleared of any links to the killings.
