WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A dog bit the nose off a volunteer at a West Palm Beach animal shelter and the director of that shelter said she's not going to help him.
Steve Ragno said he had a special fondness for a dog named Buttercup. But when he took Buttercup out of his cage for a walk, Buttercup got into a fight with another dog.Ragno tried to break it up and that's when he was bitten. Now he wants help from the shelter."Absolutely not. We are not going to use our money that people donated to help the animals to pay for his reconstruction or medical bills. That was his fault," said shelter director Jeanette Crhistos.Buttercup is still in the shelter. Ragno rescued the dog years ago after someone broke her legs and used her as bait while training other pit bulls to fight.
