Detectives Say Man Wanted To Make Teen His Sex Slave

According to police, an Ormond Beach man had promised to turn the teen boy he was about to meet into a sex slave, but when Johnny Masters got to the Daytona Beach bus depot, it was Volusia County deputies he met instead.

Masters's arrest Wednesday evening was the result of a two-state sting aimed at catching Internet predators.

Detective T.C. Bloxom of Bossier Parish, Louisiana, had set up the meeting online. Posing as a 13-year-old boy named "Will," Bloxom started a conversation with Masters in a Yahoo chat room aimed at gay men.

Bloxom said it only took a few minutes for the conversations to become explicit. "Will" eventually agreed to travel to Daytona Beach on a Greyhound bus and meet Masters and allegedly become his sex slave. Bloxom then notified the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

After the arrest, investigators searched Masters' home in Ormond Beach for evidence. They confiscated his computer hard drive and other items.

Sex crimes investigators said they were proud of Wednesday's arrest, but said there were plenty of other Internet predators still to catch.

Volusia County investigators said they did not find any other evidence inside Masters house, so there will be no local charges, but they will send his computer hard drive to Louisiana to assist in their case against him.

Masters will be extradited back to Louisiana to face charges of using a computer to solicit sex from a minor.
