SANFORD, Fla. -- Orlando-Sanford International Airport was seeing some delays as long as five hours Thursday after new security changes were implemented following the thwarting of a terrorist plot by authorities in London. On any given day, UK residents are in and out of Orlando-Sanford International Airport and some of those passengers were beginning to fill the lobby Thursday preparing for their long wait home. All the international business is happening inside of the airport Thursday. Usually, there was at least some curbside check-in, but not Thursday under the orange alert. All bags must be checked at the counter, where the garbage cans are for items like sun tan lotion, beverages, creams, toothpaste.Thursday at Orlando-Sanford International Airport, the security force was more visible and there were more of them. There were also greeters to help passengers with questions over their extended waits in the U.S.Most of the Brits that Eyewitness News spoke to said they don't even consider it an inconvenience. They said what's foremost on their minds was safety.Early Thursday afternoon, some delays were listed at around five hours. Some flight arrivals were simply listed as TBA, to be announced.
