Officials reopen SR 429 in Orange County after brush fire

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Officials have reopened State Road 429 in west Orange County following a brush fire late Saturday afternoon.

Troopers earlier closed State Road 429 near Schofield Road in both direction because of the fire.

Heavy smoke was blowing onto the highway causing major visibility issues for drivers, FHP said.

Orange County Fire Rescue officials said the fire grew to roughly 50 acres but was quickly contained.

The highway has since reopened and there are no visibility issues.
