Deputies: Human remains found in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies said a passerby discovered skeletal remains in an area behind a shopping plaza on Turkey Lake Road Sunday morning.

The remains are that of a homicide victim, according to officials. Investigators said the skeletal remains have been turned over to the medical examiner's office for further evaluation. There is no word on the age or gender of the remains, according to deputies.

Deputies and crime scene investigators responded to the scene just after 11:00 Sunday morning. A passerby called 911 after finding the remains, which were located behind a shopping plaza on the 8900 block of Turkey Lake Road.

Deputies remained at the scene overnight, and left the area just before noon Monday.

Interest in the case is heightened because of the unsolved cases of three missing women from the Orlando area.  Jennifer Kesse, Tracey Oscasio and Michelle Parker have all disappeared in the last few years, in separate cases.

WFTV's Nancy Alvarez spoke with the sister of Michelle Parker Monday morning. Parker's sister said the remains found on Sunday are not related to the case of her missing sister.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing. Stay with WFTV and WFTV.com for the latest on this story.
