Driver crashes into wall at PAFB after possible road rage incident

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A driver crashed into a wall at Patrick Air Force Base early Wednesday morning, according to Brevard County officials.

The passenger said another driver was swerving along the Pineda Causeway and cut them off.

The passenger, Gerald Emmanuel, said he then mouthed-off to the other driver, who pulled out a gun, so Emmanuel's friend swerved, lost control and crashed into the wall.

"He was like cutting in front of us swerving and pressing his brakes," said Emmanuel.

The driver was taken to the hospital, but his condition and name were not released.

Civil engineers were at the scene fixing the hole.

"It seemed like it took a long time to get to the wall. We were just aimed at it for a while," said Emmanuel.

Deputies said they do not believe alcohol was involved.

Investigators said they were searching for the other driver.
