Driver sought after crashing SUV into Cocoa Waffle House

COCOA, Fla. — An SUV crashed through a Cocoa Waffle House and sped off Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP said the driver was parked at the Waffle House on Kings Street and then drove over the parking curb and into the restaurant where customers were sitting inside.

FHP said the driver then reversed and fled the scene.

Four people were injured in the crash and two were taken to Wuesthoff Hospital.

The SUV is described as a silver or tan and should have front-end damage. It was being driven by a man wearing a white shirt with red stripes.

The building was not declared unsafe by the Brevard County building inspector, but he advised to use caution before reopening.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
