Orlando, FL —
Thanks to everyone who came out for the 3rd AnnualChili Cook- Off benefiting Special Olympics Florida. WRDQ 27 Community Connection and partners were on-site to help raise lots of money for a great cause! The numbers are still coming in on how much money was raised. If you missed the event, there are still numerous ways you can get involved in Special Olympics of Central Florida. Visit them online at http://www.specialolympicsflorida.org/community-overview/community-overview.html
Since its inception in 1972, the Special Olympics Florida has given people with intellectual disabilities the ability to compete just like everyone else. They serve 15,000 athletes, and have made it their mission to encourage the disabled to participate in year-round sports training and competition.
