Feeding America-help us feed families

The holiday season is a time for giving, whether it's lending a helping hand or sharing much-needed food with families facing hunger and as we know 1 in 5 people deal with hunger in our community, including children.At WFTV 9 Family Connection, we're partnering with Disney/ABC during November to feed local families by helping secure our local Feeding America member, Second Harvest Food Bank $5,000 through Disney|ABC's Season of Service this month.You can help too! When you donate to Feeding America in November, Disney will match your gift dollar for dollar &up to $250,000.Our goal, with your help, is to provide 40-million pounds of produce to those in need. Together, we will fill the shelves of pantries, afterschool programs and soup kitchens in Central Florida and communities across the country with fruits and vegetables — essential components to the overall wellbeing of kids and families so that someday every family in America will have enough to eat during the holidays and all year long.
