COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Residents in Southwest Florida are being urged to use caution until an escaped bear cub is caught.
“If you see the bear, please do not approach it. Get indoors if you can,” said Capt. Mitts Mravic of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The 125-pound grizzly cub escaped from a facility in Naples, Fla. Tuesday afternoon.
FWC urged residents in the Golden Gates Estates community to report any sightings of the cub.
The agency has been working with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office to find the animal.
Friday, investigators were still trying to find out how the bear escaped.
