Grand jury indicts NH man found in Orlando on child assault charges

BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A New Hampshire man police say beat and burned his girlfriend's 3-year-old son last month before fleeing and being captured with her at a Florida theme park has been indicted on multiple assault charges.

A grand jury indicted 27-year-old Roland Dow this week.

Dow and 23-year-old Jessica Linscott fled from Plaistow to Orlando, rather than face police questioning after they took the boy to a hospital. Federal marshals apprehended Dow and Linscott at a Universal Studios park after a parade.

Dow is accused of striking the boy in the head so hard he caused traumatic brain injury and seizures. Linscott is accused of failing to take the boy in for treatment sooner and is charged with multiple counts of child endangerment.

They say the boy's injuries were self-inflicted.
