A Kenyan court on Wednesday (December 4) denied a plea for bail by four Somali men charged with terrorist offenses for helping al Qaeda-linked militants carry out an attack on a Nairobi shopping mall that killed at least 67 people. The assault was claimed by the Somali Islamist group al Shabaab, which said it acted because of Kenya's refusal to withdraw its troops from Somalia where they are part of a African peacekeeping force battling the militants.
