The holders of two lucky tickets sold states apart will split a $400 million Mega Millions jackpot, the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.
The winning numbers are: 11, 19, 24, 33 and 51 with a Mega Ball of 7.
The winning numbers were drawn Tuesday night, and lottery officials said Wednesday that the tickets were sold in Florida and Maryland.
Florida lottery officials said their winning ticket was sold at a Sunoco convenience store in Merritt Island on the Space Coast. That winner has 180 days to come forward, and state lotto officials will release his or her name and city of residence.
"I was like, 'Oh my God, that's really awesome,'" said resident Nicol Gibson.
Maryland lottery officials said their winning ticket was sold at Lady's Liquor in La Plata, south of Washington. The winner has 182 days to claim the prize and can remain anonymous.
"I think that's exciting, and I play, but I didn't play here. I wish I did," said resident Beth Withrow. "I think it's great for the store and great for the island."
Both retailers receive $100,000 commissions for selling the winning tickets.
It's the first time a winning mega millions ticket was sold in Florida.
