1 killed in Osceola County crash

One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Osceola County.

The crash happened at about 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Brighton Lakes Boulevard.

A 2005 Nissan SUV, driven by Segundo Alvrado, 68, was driving north on Pleasant Hill Road when he took a left onto Brighton Lakes Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Alvrado pulled in front of a motorcycle, driven by Julio Cerda, 41, who was driving in the opposite direction.

Cerda hit Alvrado’s SUV in the side, FHP said.

Cerda was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet, FHP said.

FHP did not list any injuries for Alvrado.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
