$10K reward offered in Orange County home invasion killing

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The friends of an Orange County man who was killed during a home invasion are pleading for help in finding his killer.

John Brennan's friends have helped raise a $10,000 reward they hope can help solve the case.

The 50-year-old Brennan was killed in July 2012 while defending his family during a home invasion on Bridlewood Avenue.

Deputies at the Orange County Sheriff's Office are desperate to get Brennan's killers behind bars and close the case but said they can't do it alone.

"It was a cold-blooded killing," said Detective Eric Debose of the Sheriff's Office. "We're looking for any information to give us insight into who these people are."

While investigators have been busy searching for clues, Brennan's friend Dave Telesz has been busy collecting reward money.

"This guy was a genuine quality, outstanding person, and he was good to everybody," said Telesz, who worked with Brennan at AirTran Airways.

For the past 10 months, Telesz has put up fliers and petitioned people for donations, large and small. He recently handed a $5,400 check over to CrimeLine, matching a pre-existing reward.

The money will go to the person who helps crack the case.

"Somebody has to have a guilty conscience to know what they did. They took a life, and that was a good human being," said Telesz.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
