2 arrested in Sanford apartment complex shooting

SANFORD, Fla. — Sanford police arrested two people in connection to a shootout at an apartment complex on 5th Street Sunday, authorities said.

Timothy Nichols, 25, and Devante Reed, 18 were arrested.

One person was grazed by a bullet and is expected to be fine.

However, another family was forced to check into a hotel after bullets went through their windows and walls at the Seminole Garden Apartments.

"As soon as I gets to walk, glass hit me here and I duck down. The bullet came through the wall and bust the water heater up," said resident Ronald Bradley.

Police said they do not believe the victims were the intended target.

Nichols and Reed are being held at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility without bail.
