ORLANDO, Fla. - A domestic violence incident has left an Orlando woman dead, and investigators said her attacker took his own life.
The deadly incident happened at an apartment on Stag Horn Drive in Pine Hills on Sunday.
Orlando police said Donald Stephenson cut Nichollette White's throat during an argument on Sunday.
Stephenson then committed suicide by cutting his throat, police said.
According to police, a child ran from the apartment for help. When an adult returned with the child, they found White and Stephenson lying on the floor, covered in blood.
"Very horrific. Especially, coming a day after the 'It Takes Courage Campaign' that we launched yesterday," said Sgt. Vince Ogburn of the Orlando Police Department.
The child is in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
