ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two U-Haul employees are suing the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on claims of civil rights violations and false imprisonment.
Wendy Ford and Melanie Nieves claim at least 15 deputies stormed the U-Haul facility on South Kirkman Road last year as part of an investigation, but never showed a search warrant.
When the woman questioned the deputies, they said they were arrested for resisting an officer without violence.
The charges were later dropped by the state attorney’s office.
A Sheriff’s Office spokesman has no comment on the suit.
