4-year-old pronounced dead following accident on Banana River

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Port Canaveral police are investigating the drowning of a 4-year-old boy.

The boy was rescued from the Banana River in an area known as Ski Island. He was boogie boarding with his family when he went under the water.

Someone was able to flag down a port authority marine crew.

The child was unresponsive when he was taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital and was later pronounced dead.
