6 dogs injured, 1 dead in alleged dogfighting ring

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Six pit bulls were rescued from an alleged dogfighting ring in Orange County.

Investigators said the six dogs were found injured and another dead when deputies arrived at a home on North Ohio Avenue in Orlando on Friday.

The animals were being treated by Orange County Animal Services.

A neighbor WFTV spoke with was surprised when he learned what happened, saying, "I never seen that going on. I've been living here for three years. I never known a dog fight to be going on."

Deputies said it was a neighbor who called and gave them the tip about the alleged dogfighting.

Five people were arrested on Friday, but their names were not released.

Authorities said most of them have posted their $1,000 bail and were released.
