FLORIDA MAN GETS LIFE FOR THROWING BABY FROM CAR
 
A Florida man convicted of killing a 3-month-old boy by tossing the infant out of a moving vehicle has been sentenced to life in prison. Following a jury's recommendation, a Hillsborough County judge sentenced 26-year-old Richard McTear on Tuesday. Jurors found him guilty last week of first-degree murder, kidnapping, battery and aggravated child abuse charges. Prosecutors had been seeking the death penalty.
 
FOURTH JUDGE OVERTURNS FLORIDA SAME-SEX MARRIAGE BAN
 
A fourth judge in Florida has overturned the state's ban on same-sex marriage in a single county. Tuesday's ruling by Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Diana Lewis mirrors recent decision in Monroe, Miami-Dade and Broward counties. All found that a 2008 voter-approved constitutional amendment banning gay marriage in the state violates gay residents' right to equal protection under the law as guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
 
NAVY OFFICER'S WIFE, 2 MEN CHARGED IN SLAYING
 
Authorities say a Jacksonville Navy commander was killed by his estranged wife, her boyfriend and that man's best friend in an attempt to collect more than $1 million in life insurance money. Orange Park police officials said during a news conference Tuesday that 44-year-old Yolinda Doss, 29-year-old Anthony D. Washington and 33-year-old Ronnie R. Wilson II have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and assault and battery during a burglary.
 
GRANDMOTHER IN CUSTODY AFTER GRANDSON DIES
 
A 7-year-old boy was stabbed to death on Tuesday and authorities say his 63-year-old grandmother is the main suspect in his death. The Leon County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies responded to a 911 call Tuesday morning at a home in the Killearn Lakes neighborhood just north of Tallahassee. They discovered that Mason Rhinehart had been stabbed multiple times in the chest.
 
BOY RECOVERING FROM SHARK BITE
 
An Orlando boy is recovering after being bitten by a shark off a Melbourne-area beach. Christian Sanhueza's mother said the boy celebrated his ninth birthday Tuesday at Holmes Regional Medical Center after undergoing two surgeries. Melissa Sanhueza said she and her son were in chest-deep water Saturday afternoon off the Patrick Air Force Base beach when her son started yelling that a shark bit his foot.
