55-gallon drum leaking on Kissimmee road

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A metal 55-gallon drum was leaking an unknown liquid on Mill Slough Road Monday, according to the Kissimmee Fire Department.

A sanitation worker discovered three barrels of an unknown chemical in a north Kissimmee neighborhood, and one of the barrels was leaking fluid.

Orange County Hazmat workers were called in to remove the barrels so they can be tested.

State officials said the drums were not a danger to residents in the area, but some contaminated soil may need to be removed.
