Wednesday night, as part of a 9 Family Connection special, WFTV took a hard look at the domestic violence crisis in Central Florida.
The half-hour long special tracks some of the domestic violence tragedies that plagued our area during the last couple of years. The show also examines the causes of domestic violence and abuse and highlights the efforts being made locally to control and eliminate the problem.
Bob Opsahl and Vanessa Welch anchor the program, while Channel 9 reporters recount the stories that made the news and drew widespread attention to this important issue.
Reporters also talk to some victims brave enough to share their stories of domestic violence and survival.
Finally, the show features some of the community leaders on the forefront of the issue, Ninth Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. and Orange County Domestic Violence Commission Co-Chair Judge Alice Blackwell.
