ROCKLEDGE, Fla. - Rockledge police said thanks to an alert neighbor, they caught a  burglary suspect Monday.

Police said the man was spotted breaking into a home on Alsup Drive near the Rockledge Country Club.

Police said right about the time the suspect targeted the home drive, a neighbor was looking out of his window.

"I was on the phone and I heard this loud thump and I thought, "What was that?" the neighbor told Channel 9's Melonie Holt.

The man, who didn't want to be identified, called 911.

"He got the window open, went into the house, and was there for approximately a minute or two. He ran out the door and jumped that fence," the man said.

Rockledge police weren't far behind.

"[We performed] a cursory search, yard by yard, and we were able to locate him in a shed at one of the houses on Miracle Way," said Lt. Greg Klayman of the Rockledge Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Tavary Cooper, 21. He's being charged with two counts of burglary and resisting arrest.

A neighbor said there have been some recent car break-ins.

When Holt checked police records, was no increase in home break-ins across the city since the same time last year.

Police said they are still working to determine if Cooper could be connected to any other cases.
