Allegiant Air departures delayed in Sanford

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — All of Allegiant Air's arrivals are on time, but there are a couple of departures that are delayed.

Hundreds of people showed up to the Orlando-Sanford International Airport on Friday, only to find their Allegiant Air flights cancelled.

"It's kind of aggravating," traveler Sherrie Pierce said.

The airline pulled 30 planes from its fleet to reinspect their emergency slides.

Allegiant said it did so because of potential compliance issues.

"I didn't hear anything about it until you just mentioned it," traveler Sherry Duffy said.

At Orlando-Sanford International Airports, things are finally getting back to normal Sunday, but two of Allegiant's flights do have delays.

"We were supposed to fly out at 11:30 but now we don't fly out until 1:50," traveler Candance Ratchford said.

Allegiant said reinspections should be finished by the end of the month, but there's still no word on when flight times will be completely back on schedule.

The two Allegiant Air flights that are delayed are heading to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Fort Wayne, Ind.
