Apopka police investigate after bricks, rocks hit cars from SR 429 overpass

APOPKA, Fla. — Apopka police are investigating multiple incidents of cars getting hit by something while driving on State Road 429 in Apopka.

A Lake County commissioner and her husband had a brick from the overpass go through the windshield of the Uber car Friday while on State Road 429 near the overpass.

At least three people reported the same thing happening over the weekend.

Commissioner Leslie Campione and her husband , Jack Cassell, were coming home from the Hall and Oates concert at the Amway Center early Saturday in an Uber.

It was an uneventful ride, until they approached the overpass and heard what they said sounded like an explosion.

When they pulled over, he said they had glass everywhere including in their hair, and a brick was found on the passenger side floor.

On Saturday night, Facebook user Kourtney Coleman posted a video of a similar incident in the same area.
