LAKE COUNTY, Fla. - An Apopka woman was seriously injured in a crash that sent her car into a utility pole near Sorrento Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Sharon Harris, 27, was driving eastbound on State Road 46 when her car went off the road while rounding a curve at Orange Street.

Troopers said Harris' car struck a sign and then a utility pole.

According to troopers, the utility pole broke in two spots causing power lines to fall across S.R. 46.

Troopers said a car traveling westbound on S.R. 46 hit the fallen lines and was damaged. They said another car was damaged by the broken sign.

Harris was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

S.R. 46 was closed while power company employees replace the broken pole.
