Arrest made in Daytona Beach shooting, police say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Daytona Beach man has been arrested in a shooting that severely injured another man, police said.

Chauncey Bryant, 26, was charged with aggravated battery in the shooting of Derrick Bell, 38, police said.

Police said the two got into an altercation at 9:35 a.m. Saturday at 511 Jean St.

When police arrived, they found Bell shot in the arm and stomach, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he’s recovering from his injuries, police said.

Bell was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
