Attorney John Morgan tweets he will not run for Fla. governor

Well-known Orlando-based attorney John Morgan tweeted Friday that he cannot “muster the enthusiasm to run for the nomination” for Florida governor.
The tweet also said that it was “amazing to be leading the polls for Governor without being a candidate.”
Gov. Rick Scott is leaving office due to term limits. Several Republican and Democratic candidates have already lined up to replace him.
In July, Morgan filed a lawsuit against the state of Florida over its enacted medical marijuana law.
Morgan said he's suing the state because the law prohibits the smoking of medical marijuana. Patients may currently vape or use oils, pills or edibles.

Morgan said the stipulation on smoking contradicts the Florida Constitution and the intent of voters who approved the amendment.
Morgan is chairman of People United for Medical Marijuana. He was a major proponent of the amendment, which passed in November 2016 with 71 percent voter approval.
