OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. —

After an Osceola County father was killed in a construction accident his family raised a sizable trust fund so his daughter could go to college. But nearly all of that money disappeared and investigators said it was a family member who took it.

"It makes me happy to know she finally got what she deserves," said Caraann Wilson.

Jolene Wilson, Caraann Wilson's aunt, is accused of stealing almost $120,000 of her niece's money, which was supposed to help with college expenses.

"You think you can trust family, but sometimes that's not always the case," said Caraann.

The money was raised after Caraann's father Danny Wilson was killed in a construction accident in 2004 at the Reunion Resort in Osceola County.

Jolene Wilson was left in charge of the money.

When it came time for Caraann to go off to college, the money was gone.

"She refused to talk to me about my trust that was supposed to be set up for me," said Caraann.

Caraann contacted the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the money was put into several accounts at the First Commercial Bank, which was later taken over by First Southern. They said that over the years all of the money disappeared.

"I would like to know what she did with all that money," said Diane Wilson, Caraann's mother.

Diane Wilson said that along with the money, Jolene Wilson owes them an explanation.

"Of what she did with the money, why she took the money, why did she feel that she could do that and hurt my daughter?" said Diane Wilson.

"Even if I never get the money back, at least I know she's paying for it in some way," said Caraann.

Caraann is in college now but said she is struggling to pay for it. She said the money would have really helped.

Jolene Wilson is being held at the Osceola County Jail. She will have a special bond hearing so officials can make sure she won't use her niece's college fund to post bail.
