LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A $1.2 million budget review into Lake County schools shows the district may not be spending its money where it's needed the most.
Compared to nine other school districts across the country, the review reveals Lake County spends the least amount of money on each student and pays its teachers the least.
The review is being funded by the Bill Gates Foundation.
Lake County is just one of four districts in the country that's partnered with the foundation to figure out how to best use its funding to improve education.
