Boil-water notice issued for 3,800 people in The Villages

THE VILLAGES, Fla. — Nearly 3,800 residents of The Villages are under a precautionary boil-water notice Tuesday.

A spokesperson for Arnett Environmental blamed a 12-inch water main break.

The notice affects customers in Harmeswood of Belle Aire, Alahmbra, Santiago and Santo Domingo. Businesses and medical offices along El Camino Real, Buenos Aires Boulevard and east of U.S. 441 north of Bella Cruz Drive are also affected.

As a precaution, residents are asked to boil all water used for hand washing, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, cooking and washing dishes.  Bottled water can also be used.

The precautionary boil-water notice will remain in effect until tests show that the water is safe.
