Brevard Co. father accused of trying to kill his 2-year-old, abuse baby

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Brevard County father was arrested after investigators said he tried to kill a 2-year-old and abused a baby.

The father allegedly strangled a 2-year-old girl and then shook a little baby, leaving cuts and bruises on both of them.

Officials say 22-year old Kyle Moore is facing attempted murder and child abuse charges.

Moore is being held at the Brevard County Jail without bond.

DCF said there's a no-contact order in place.

According to police, on Wednesday, the children's mother left her 2-year-old, 1-year-old, and 28-day-old home alone with Moore.

When she returned, her 2-year-old was on the floor crying. That's when she noticed marks on the child's neck and red dots in her eyes.

The woman brought the child to the hospital, where it was determined the marks and dots were consistent with strangulation injuries.

Police decided to have a conversation with Moore. When they arrived at the couple's home on North Wickham Road, the infant in Moore's arms had a cut on her right eyelid and a bruise on her cheek.

DCF said all three children have been removed from the couple's home and are staying with relatives. Their mother has supervised visitation.
