BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A custody case between a Brevard County lesbian couple could force Florida lawmakers to reconsider a law on the rights of sperm and egg donors.
On Tuesday, the Florida Supreme Court heard arguments in that custody battle.
One partner gave birth to the couple's baby in 2004. But the egg was donated by the other woman.
The couple separated two years later.
The woman who gave birth was initially granted
custody, but an appellate court ruled both should have parental rights.
