Brevard County man arrested in Georgia on child sex charges

A Brevard County man who was arrested in Georgia is behind bars in Brevard County.
Titusville police said Michael McCollom was wanted in connection with a Florida sexual battery case, involving two young girls.
It took a joint effort between Titusville police and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office’s Game Over Task Force to find McCollom in Georgia. McCollom is jailed in Brevard County on charges of sexual battery on two children.
Titusville police said they were first contacted on July 10 when an allegation was made that McCollom had had sexual contact with children at a Titusville home.
According to court documents, one of the children told investigators that McCollom had showed them some naked videos on his cellphone and asked them if they liked the videos.
In another incident, the victims said McCollom had entered the bathroom while they were in the shower and had moved the curtain so that he could see them naked.
Investigators said they have yet to speak with a third child about McCollom.
“This is an ongoing investigation. I do encourage people; if they have any tips, they can always call Titusville police or Crimeline,” said Amy Mathews, of the Titusville Police Department.
One of the girls said that McCollom had told the children not to tell anyone, and that if they did, he would deny it; The child said she was afraid of McCollom and worried he would come back to kidnap her if she spoke about the incidents.
“We got him back, and he's here to face his charges,” Mathews said.
McCollom is being held without bail because he was already on felony probation for burglary and theft in Lake County.
