Brevard County man made child porn, could be more victims, investigators say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A 77-year-old Brevard County man is accused of targeting young girls to make child pornography inside his home, federal investigators said.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said they received a tip that Billy Dyer was trying to get teenage girls to perform sex acts.

"It's evil. It's very bad," Tod Goodyear with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office told Channel 9's Deneige Broom.

An undercover agent posed as a teenage girl online and agreed to meet Dyer in Brevard County for sex, investigators said. Dyer was arrested March 10 for trying to meet a minor for sex.

Investigators searched Dyer’s home in Melbourne and said they found more than 100 images of child porn that they believe he created inside his home last summer.

The indictment said that from June 22, 2016 to Feb. 9 Dyer coerced three minors to engage in sexual activity.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office got involved and a federal grand jury indicted him on three counts of producing child porn.

Investigators said they have identified three local teen victims in the pornographic images. But there are other girls, believed to be teens, who they haven't identified and are now trying to find.

If convicted, Dyer could face 55 years in prison.
