These 22 Publix locations in Brevard County will offer COVID-19 vaccines for seniors, health care personnel

Brevard County health officials are now accepting appointments for a limited supply of COVID-19 vaccines.

In Brevard County, there will be 22 Publix pharmacies that will have vaccines for seniors, DeSantis said.

Appointments could be made online starting Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Vaccinations for the new round will begin this week and will continue until appointments are filled.

Those who are 65 and older and health care personnel are eligible for the vaccine.

Gov. Ron DeSantis was in Viera Tuesday afternoon to announce an expansion of a state partnership with Publix to provide more seniors with access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

In Brevard County, there will be 22 Publix pharmacies that will have vaccines for seniors, DeSantis said.

Earlier Tuesday, the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County filled appointments for 2,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines in 22 minutes. The health department will begin administering those doses on Wednesday.

DeSantis said that each Publix administering vaccines will be able to provide 100 to 125 shots per day.
